West German Fat Lava Vase [VINTAGE]
This West German fat lava vase dates to the late 1960s, its triple-spout form finished in a rare glaze that pools and runs with the thick, lava-like texture the style is named for. Fat lava remains one of the most collected West German ceramic movements, and a piece in this uncommon spout configuration and glaze stands out even within that category. Excellent vintage condition, with no visible cracks or chips, and the natural variations in glaze and firing inherent to handmade stoneware. At under five inches tall, it reads as a genuine collector's piece, equally suited to a curated shelf of vintage ceramics or a Brutalist-leaning interior.
