Low-Profile Ikebana Bowl [VINTAGE]
This black ware studio pottery bowl takes a wide, organic form raised on a low footed base, with subtle incised bands circling the body beneath a matte charcoal finish. That low, grounded profile is traditional to Ikebana vessels, built to let floral arrangements extend outward and upward from a stable base rather than compete with a tall container. Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear; the interior of the foot carries a stable firing or drying crack that does not extend through the exterior and does not affect display or use, with no visible exterior chips. At nine inches across, it works equally well for floral arranging or simply displayed empty.
